When a client has thinner, finer hair, I usually opt to use Great Lengths Extensions.They are extremely customizable with respect to the bonds. I can add more finer strands that do not appear bulky.
It is important to "load balance" the hair. To get a natural look, we want the top of the clients natural hair to match/blend with the extensions.
If the hair is thinner/finer on top, and the extensions are heavy and bulky, it becomes obvious that someone is wearing extensions.
Before we applied the extensions in this instance, we colored the client's hair with an emphasis of blonding at the top, and rich browns underneath. The end result gives a hi-light/low-light effect.
